Attorney Victoria Cruz-Garcia Awards Tampa Hispanic Bar Association Scholarships
Posted By Givens Givens Sparks, PLLC || Nov 17, 2016
Givens Givens Sparks principal attorney Victoria Cruz-Garcia awarded two scholarships during the 10th Annual Tampa Hispanic Bar Association (THBA) gala dinner and ceremony on November 3 to Barbara Perez, a student at Florida A&M University College of Law and to Pamela Cordova, a student at Stetson University College of Law, which happens to be Cruz-Garcia’s alma mater.
The scholarship, named after Cruz-Garcia who is a former president of the organization, is awarded to current Florida law school students who have shown a strong record of service to their community, demonstrated excellence in academics, and have expressed interest in staying in or coming back to the Tampa Bay area after graduation. This is the third year the THBA Board of Directors has awarded the scholarship. Cruz-Garcia commented on the award:
"I believe that we all have a responsibility to engage with our community and extend our services as attorneys to those who may not have the resources or the voice to reach out. These incredible women have demonstrated a dedication to their respective communities that has been impactful beyond measure.”
